Once you have set up an account for UC, you have to claim within 28 days, or they will have to set up their account again.
If enter all your details in but don't submit them ie you do nothing more, and the account expires/lapses. Does the DWP still retain/store or have your information you typed in but never submitted?

I can't say for certain, this is the DWP after all but I would expect the information to be deleted under Data Protection rules.
