Move from incapacity benefit to ESA support group was created by crockhouse
Hi
The dreaded white letter arrived 11 weeks& 1 day since returned esa50 form , moved to support group without medical! Will admit on opening the letter and realising it was Dwp, I actually upchuck, never realised how stressed I was waiting for this result.
Thank you all for your brilliant work on this site, without you I wouldn't been able to have filled in the dreaded form and win. Everyone needs to know this form filling is so depressing due to concentrating on your negative times, but stick at it, it really is worth it. I cannot stress it enough , please pay a little more and send forms by Special Delivery. I previously rang Atos to ask when I would hear as the stress was making me ill and very ratty. I was shocked to be told they hadn't received it! Twice I was told by 2 people at Atos , they hadn't received, when I informed them I had proof of when it was received and time and signature , and I could email it to them, 4 minutes waiting on the phone, they came back and said " oh we have found it in a pile waiting to be looked at, this was 10 weeks after they signed for
it! What a relief, I rang today and was told I would be reviewed in 3 years. & maybe I should ring Pip to inform them that my circumstances have deteriorated and will not improve. Do I do that? I am on lower rate care and high rate motability DLA at this time. My award stage sits indefinitely , what would you advise? Another question , they will start paying my new rate beginning of August! Why when the letter informing me was the beginning of July?
Sorry if this goes on, just wanted everyone to know how wonderful this site is and the best investment I have ever made, a fantastic forum really helps others like me.

Congratulations on being moved to the Support Group for the maximum re-assessment period.
I am sorry but we cannot offer an opinion on what you should do with your current DLA claim, but I can provide you with information for you to make a decision.
Being placed in the Support Group does not, of itself, imply that your current award of DLA needs to be updated, you would need to show that your Care needs have increased since the last Decision on your DLA claim.
In principle, you can request that just your Care component is reviewed, however, if the DWP decide that your mobility component is in question, they can review this as well.
If you notify the DWP before October, then your DLA will be re-assessed as DLA. However, if it later then both DLA components will be re-assessed as PIP.
Have a look at our DLA Claim guides to see whether you think you would qualify for medium rate Care.
