Ive reached an age where my thermostat appears to have broken
16YO Daughter from DLA to PIP was created by Clarebear
Hi, My daughter hit 16 & having been on DLA for 10 years with severe learning difficulty, ASD, sensory proprioception, incontinence & a host of other issues, was being moved to PIP. I used the guides on here, took the little time they give you, rounded up statements from all of the professionals she sees, all of her supporting evidence and sent off her form. Waited 6 weeks to be told she needed a face to face but it would be done at home because I am disabled. It got cancelled because the assessor was ill and rebooked, they were very helpful!! Assessor turned up, it was the lady who had assessed me, very nice lady, ex district nurse. She was very good, had read about my daughters conditions and talked them through with me, was great with my daughter and my partner and seemed very much to have an idea of what it was my daughter needed. We waited 9 weeks before finally getting an award letter. My daughter got 25 points for personal care and 12 points for mobility, awarded for 3 years. Without a doubt your guides helped me, and unusually I seem to have found the one assessor who genuinely wants to do right by disabled people.
