After a gruelling 6 month wait after submitting an ESA50, during which I had NIL contact from DWP or Maximus - not even an acknowledgement of receipt of my form - and zero constructive information when I contacted them - I was put in the support group without having to endure a "medical". I would like to thank the benefits and work team for their guides and tireless support via the forum. Especially thank you to Gordon and Mrs HurtyBack!

I hate to put success in quotes, but I take no joy at being validated by a process that nearly destroyed me.

I am very glad that this process is over for you and that you eventually got the award you deserve. Thank you for letting us know and for your kind words about B+W :)

Firstly, what a relief for you I'm really happy that you finally have the news you have been waiting for!
I received the dreaded ESA50 in April after 5 years in the support group. I gathered all my supporting evidence and returned the completed form and documents within the 3 week time limit by recorded delivery. Here we are in mid October and despite three telephone calls to the DWP & Maximus I have no information on the progress of my reassessment.
The stress of not knowing is undoubtedly having a profound effect on the myriad of complicated conditions I have to endure! Please could you tell me which area in the country you live?
I'm praying that the brown envelope will drop on my mat very soon bringing good news too, as I am struggling to cope with the level of anxiety I am feeling every day.

Hi everyone, I was in Esa support group for 5 years and had the Esa reassessment form through 8 weeks ago. It was sent in promptly and with supporting letters.I didn't have a medical last time or this time .I hadn't heard anything so rang yesterday. The operator was very polite . He told me that I will remain in the support group and it will roll over. That I may be contacted after 3 months and that the award is for the max of 18 months? In between times I received the annual 'rise' in benefit letter which was like my others stating 'Your claim for Esa support group' and a breakdown of money. I got these yearly anyway, The Dwp operator said that i wouldn't receive a letter of confirmation as my claim is ongoing and will just rollover. I'm surprised really that a confirmation letter wont be sent and had i not phoned them ,I would have been continually anxious for months.
Has anyone else had this and am i missing something here?

Congratulations on the award, well done.

All Decisions must be notified in writing to the claimants, so contact the DWP again and ask for a Decision Letter to be sent.

Hi Jainey. My ESA form was sent to Wolverhampton although I live in North Yorkshire.
I still haven't had a letter of confirmation and its 11 weeks. As I stated in my 1st post.I have only had the 'Changes in your claim for ESA support group' letter advising me of my 25 pence rise per week. I got these yearly anyway. I've stopped worrying about it as the DWP have got to get me in for a medical to change what group i'm in. I believe that they have to complete the reassessment within 13 weeks. The DWP man on the phone confirmed that "I had absolutely nothing to worry about" and "Your claim will just roll over" He confirmed that I would not receive a letter to confirm this as its an automatic Rollover. I could demand a letter, i suppose but to be honest, I'm sick to death of the whole procedure. I've go to do DLA to PIP next and finding the energy to prove i'm sick is not acceptable. However I will fight them if they take away my payments..
