The end of the DLA to PIP journey.

Just come to the end of the nightmare of my wife's change to PIP. Many thanks to all at B&W for your excellent advice and the comprehensive guides, without which we would have not had a hope of any success.

the process for us started on 1st May 2017..invitation to phone in a claim.
Pip2 claim pack dated 19th May actually received 30th May giving ONLY 19 days to complete and return. Sent in special delivery 17th June ...deadline 19th June
16th July recd Appointment letter from Atos.
28th July..attended.f2f medical appointment in another town... despite requesting home visit and having an Atos centre in our home town.
Early August rang DWP for copy of Med report.
Received 2 weeks later 17th August . Gives details of your points so you can actually work out the likely awards and prepare your disputed areas in advance of decision letter.
18th August 2 identical .letters from dwp stating they have all info needed to decide.
Decision letter received 22nd August echoing medical report awards to the letter.
Mandatory recon applied for sent in 5th September.
24th September second DM decision...points awarded unchanged from original decision.
Previous dla was high on both.Decided to stop here as original PIP award was standard care 9pointsand high mob 12points till 2027.
Worth a try for an mand recon as so close to threshold for high care if one or two descriptors increased and as the med assessment completely disreguarded my wife's mental issues despite gp and clinical psychologists back up letters and the hp's 'watered down' opinions of the effects of her chronic illnesses on daily living to just below the points needed for high care.
Mand recon DM ignored all our disputed points.(16 pages of detailed argument regarding a 'cognitive diagnosis' and under assessment of effects of arthritis, chronic fatigue on daily living.) We decided to not gamble any further as a lot to lose, also the whole process was too stressful and draining to drag on any more.
