I cannot thank B&W enough for all their help, Support & info. I had my pip assessment 8wks ago followed by a visit by ATOS at my Home believe or not. surprised they even sent anyone. Anyway. I've been on edge for many weeks since sending my application & made me pretty moody. I did not know where to put myself & it was made worse by ATOS coming to See me. I went through all the usual palava in answering questions & showing proof, letters, but then was shocked when she asked me to do certain movements? The letter clearly stated that I will not be asked to do anything physical. WRONG. I'm a right arm amputee with a fixed shoulder as I've no shoulder joint. I've a smashed up left shoulder joint which is damaged beyond repair. This due to extreme pain maybe fixed also in the near future. there is no longer any joint so I've very little movement at all. I cannot lift the equivalent of a 2 Pinter of milk in weight. but, even then after five mins it feels like i'm trying to carry a bag of bricks. My arm was badly twisted leaving more difficulties & am riddled with osteoarthritis. I cannot support myself & therefore often need a wheelchair (electric) as the pain becomes so bad, I lose balance. I have a WAV vehicle that carries my wheelchair & i'm in the process of having joystick steering due to the painful & weakening left arm. Still, ATOS lady asked me to try and raise my left arm. I did my best but can only reach my chin. That's how restricted I am. Also was asked to walk, albeit not far as the pain makes it difficult. ATOS lady sarcastically said I had a funny walk as she were typing her report. I, however did not & do not find it funny anyway, after all the stress of waiting the answer, like checking the post daily in anticipation I got the dreaded brown envelope. I opened it expecting the worse after hearing of all the terrible story's in the media. But, wow, enhanced rate of both & I scored well over the expected score on each. I was on a high for the rest of the day, whistling away whilst attending my raised bed garden. My loving wife who is my long term carer could not be pleased enough for me as she could see what it was doing to me. I thank you again to the bottom of my heart & wish all you GENUINE DISABLED PEOPLE great success
