the only fly in the ointment is it is only an 18 month award, which means I am going to be put through it all again. Is this a normal length of award? I was on indefinite before...is there a chance if there is no change I will not have to go to another F2F as the last one made me very ill and I am only just recovering from it

That's great news! Thanks for letting us know and for your kind words
We have seen some 'ongoing' awards but many seem to be shorter than expected. We do have one member who has been reassessed with the new form, ticked all boxes to say 'no change' and had his award renewed without being seen, so it is possible!

It has been a horrible experience to go through. I told them about my numerous suicide attempts which started as a young child and they still sent me for the face to face. I had a total meltdown at the face to face and nearly punched an ATOS employee (they were asking for it, but then I would have got a criminal record). Got the assessor report which recommended enhanced care, but the DM disagreed and added on the standard mobility too.
My advice to anyone on here with MH issues is just do your best and take it one tiny step at a time, so it is not too daunting.
My MH deteriorated massively and I was delusional when assessed. I was happy and stable when the brown envelope arrived and everything went down hill very quickly.
I am now a lot better and will be far better off financially than when I got DLA.
Just so grateful for all the help here, I would not have done it without that 80 page guide thing you can download. My 20 quid investment on this site paid off big style.
