CARERS ALLOWANCE AND E.S.A. was created by 1048claire
After a stressful three months waiting for the results of my transfer fro DLA to PIP, I have had my results - Continued mobility at the enhanced (higher) rate, and an increase in my personal care from standard to enhanced.
Thank you soooo much for your help in completing the forms. I don't think I would have been able to do it without your help.

Now, I have another question ...... because I now get the enhanced rate for personal care, this enables my son (who lives with me) to claim carers allowance. However, he is in receipt of income-based ESA (work related group) Does this overlap with any carers allowance that he might receive?
I've tried looking it up on the Gov.UK web site, but it's an absolute minefield!!

Hello Claire

I think I'd be inclined to contact the Carers Allowance site personally and check - they are by far the best people to advise you. As you say, it IS a minefield and isn't worth your son losing any of his benefit because of any misinformation.

Congratulations on your successful transfer to higher rate PIP - hopefully it will help to make your life that little bit easier. So glad you found the guides helpful, and if you need us in the future you know where we are!!!

Take care :)
