DLA Renewal Success!!!!

I received the brown envelope today and didn't think it could be the decision as I only posted it back to DWP (by special delivery) on Saturday 4th April 2015. Low and behold it was the decision and I have been awarded Higher Rate Mobility and Care INDEFINITELY!!!!! I have been on Lower Rate Mobility and Care since 2013 (backdated from June 2012) after attending an appeals tribunal in August 2013.

I honestly thought I would have to go through the whole reconsideration request, medical and appeal process again as I did the first time I applied for this benefit, that ended up taking over a year to resolve. But no, less than 2 months and an answer already!!!!

I only wished I had subscribed to your website when I was completing the first claim form in 2012!!!

I have a chronic neurological disease that isn't going to get better but I deal with it as best I can on a daily basis. So many people who don't know me mention how well I look and are shocked where I tell them about my disability.

Thank you to all administrators and subscribers for their contributions towards this fantastic website - you have no idea how relieved I am feeling at this precise moment Rest assured I will be recommending your website to everyone I know who are going through the stress and worry about completing these forms.

I Would really like to say a massive thank you to you for info packs, advise and help given with my DLA renewal. I used all the guides and also others stories/threads on this to help me on my DLA renewal.
It runs out today, but calling them daily twice a day resulted in them awarding me the same Higher rate on care and mobility for another two years. 24 hours before my current award ended. It means my Blue badge will expire for now until I get the Letter but at least my car is safe under Motability - for now at least! Thank you so much for guiding me through the process, it took me 3 days to complete with the revised pack which is so much different to my last renewal - the form which just repeats itself.
But going to my GP early assisted me to speed up the process as she wrote to them in advance - knowing what they required. So there was no medical or need to write to doctors. I was awarded just on my very detailed renewal pack and supporting evidence (lots of documents... and lots of detail in the form to cover every angle) this forum and Benefits and Works guides really helped ease a lot of the stress that goes with these situations.
