PIP SUCCESS was created by oldman
Letter arrived saturday, awarded mobility and daily living at enhanced rates. Would like to thank all those involved with this site for their knowledge and help. A bit of advice for those going to apply for pip, ensure you read all the information on this site before starting, ensure you have medical proof for all ailments you are claiming for and finally the long wait for a decision can be a lot easier if you follow this advice. A thought for those who it may involve, if your decision letter states a payment into your bank on x date add four days if the figure is 5k or greater. This is because all figures over 5k have to be countersigned by a manager before release. Once again many thanks for all involved on this site.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I think she needs to make the claim within one month of the award but she should be able to backdate it to the date that your PIP was awarded from (because it is a new award, otherwise it would be 3 months).
Depending on your circumstances she can also claim Income Support as a Carer, I'm not 100% sure but I think it may be able to backdate this to the start of the PIP claim as well, if not then it should be 3 months.
