ESA RESULT AFTER 12 MONTHS,

I couldn't believe it when I read that I've been placed in the Support group and WITHOUT having to attend a medical!
The relief is immense after a year of worry and stress so thank you for all the help and advice on here.
However, on my letter it does say that I am entitled to Contribution-based ESA but that I may also be entitled to Income related ESA. I didn't even know there were two types!
Could anyone tell me the difference and what I need to next, if anything?
Thanks.

First of all congratulations on the award.
As you were previously on IB you would normally be placed on Contribution Based ESA with a Transitional Payment if your IB payments were more than the payable amount of ESA(CB), however, as you are in the Support Group you may also be eligible for the Enhanced Disability Premium, this will be dependant on your eligibility for Income Related ESA, this considers your household income, assets and savings and any hours that a partner works.
Asset rule for ESA(IR)
24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)
If you think that you would be entitled then you need to request an ESA3 from the DWP which captures the above information.
