Firstly - Thank You to B & W guides for helping me go from IB to ESA (Support group) without a Medical & very quickly !!!
I have 2 questions, and would be grateful of the Moderators help/view and other forum members:
I'd like to know if I was "passed" on Descriptors or Exceptional Circumstances. Should I ask for forms ESA 85 A and/or LT54, or should I keep my head below the parapet (so to speak) ??
Secondly, my main Income is from an Income Protection scheme. Has anyone asked if they really need to go through the nightmare of filling in forms/medicals etc. Mentally, I don't think I can go through this again. As it"s now "Employment" and not "Incapacity", surely the need for continuing to apply for the benefit is gone ? I'd be very keen to hear from anyone who has experience in this. Very grateful for any help.
Congratulations on your award and thank you for your comments.
You can request both the ESA85A and LT54 without risk to your current award, one or both of these should indicate the basis of your award.
I think you may be reading too much into the change from Incapacity Benefit to Employment and Support Allowance Both IB and ESA are awarded to those, who due to disability or illness are unable to work.
Whether you wish to continue to receive ESA is entirely up to you, but I would strongly recommend you get face to face advice before making a decision on this, so that you can understand fully the financial implications of such a decision.
