DLA Result - We are Bowled Over

Before I say anything else I have to say thanks Benefits and Work - you are literally a life saver.

We went thriough a protracted appeal and tribunal situation for hubby's ESA last year and finally succeeded thanks to all the help from B & W from the guides and forum (we are largely silent but do read everything)

2 weeks ago we submitted hubby's DLA claim form having read the guides carefully and followed all the advice. The form was daunting but we sent it in with a wish and a prayer.

Saturday the dreaded brown envelope dropped through the letterbox. To our astonishment hubby has been awarded lower rate mobility and higher rate care for 2 years - the best news is no medical, no appeal and no tribunal necessary.

I feel as if I can breathe again and its bound to help with his ESA review which is due next month.

Congratulations! I hope that you will be able to relax a little now (until the ESA comes round!).

Like yourself, I completed my application with the help of the advice here and I got my award with no medical. My award is also for 2 years - ostensibly because I might improve in time, but I suspect this is also meant to coincide with the introduction of PIP in 2013.

Its actually made me more confident for the ESA review as the same evidence applies and I can append the decision document setting out all the criteria used to the review form as supporting eveidence. Also I know that I'm on the right track regarding how I fill the form in.
