ESA success, application for PIP was created by Nanaaggie
Thanks to the Benefits and Work ESA guides I have now been successful in my claim for ESA and I have been placed in the support group without a medical. I have now applied for PIP and after 7 phone calls between the DWP claim team and enquiry team have at last received my claim form. During my original phone call in early October I was told that the computer systems were down however my initial claim information would be taken manually and passed on. However when I did not hear anything after two weeks I telephoned again and after 7 phone calls back and forward between the Claim Line and Enquiry Line I was advised by one of the DWP staff that as they were having problems finding my original information it would be better for me to make a new claim. During each phone call I was repeatedly asked my name, Ni No etc to confirm who I was. I realise this is necessary for security reasons but becomes extremely stressful after 7 calls. I have now completed the form with the assistance of your guide and will let you know the outcome. Thank you for all the help and information

Fingers crossed for the PIP!

Hi S,

Congratulation on The SG award !!! :cheer:

If you wish to know the recommended period before you are reassessed, (the prognosis) you can ring the 0845 number on your SG decision notice letter, they should have it on screen.

You could also request the ESA85A medical report at the same time, this may give details of how and why you were placed into The SG, as well as the prognosis. This may be useful for your next reassessment. If you have problems obtaining this, you can make a written request.

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

There should also be an LT54, although it is unlikely that the DWP Call Responder will have any knowledge of this.

Details on the LT54 can be found in this list :
