I would firstly like to thank Benefits and Work for their fantastic guides - all your effort is genuinely appreciated as the DWP forms are an daunting nightmare!
Although my wife's condition has deteriorated considerably over the previous years, we had never asked for an early reassessment of her award. A few months ago, she received the paperwork for a routine reassessment and we completed it quite comprehensively (we thought!) using your guide, and additionally included about three sheets of expanded answers.
It was initially assessed at HRM and LRC indefinitely; however we truly believed that the decision was wrong and did not reflect the seriousness of her condition and the help that was required daily, so submitted an appeal.
Along with the GL24 we sent over 10 (typed A4) pages of a help/pain/support diary that explained in great detail exactly what help was needed each day, when it was needed and why.
On reconsideration they awarded HRM and HRC indefinitely.
We learnt a valuable lesson……
The B&W guide did suggest including a diary as part of the DLA paperwork, but on the first submission we did not include one as we thought we had provided enough information. In the end, it possibly took around 20 hours of effort to record the information and type it for submission, but it clearly provided the extra evidence that the forms alone just cannot.
Thank you for all your help and advice - it makes a difference.

Hi R,
That is really good news !!!
Thanks for letting us all know, and for your kind words and advice to other members.
As the awards are indefinite, you should not be invited to claim PIP until after October 2015.
