Shortest DLA appeal ever? ! was created by Kittyjay
Hi!
I joined this site recently because my son's dla had been downgraded from High care to low care at his 18 year old review. He's been on high care and low mobility for years, so I was stunned when they changed it to Low care, when nothing has changed other than him getting chronologically older.
Thankfully I found this site and lodged the appeal, following the instructions here on what to say.
I was just getting all the extra evidence organised, doctor referrals etc, and steeling myself for a long drawn out campaign, and the inevitable tribunal hearing at the end.

I sent the appeal form in on the 19th of June.

Today I got a letter informing me that my "appeal will no longer continue" because they've changed the decision and put him back on Highest Care! Without me doing anything all!
Am over the moon, the relief is astonishing. I can now get my carers allowance back too.
I can't believe its over after only 24 days.
Until PIP, that is..but today, I'm not even thinking about that, today I won. :woohoo:

Thank you so much for this amazing site. My subscription was the best money I've spent in a long time! I'm convinced that they took one look at my form, saw that I was using your wording, groaned, and decided that it would be far easier and cheaper for them just to give in now! Many thanks, and good luck to anyone else appealing. :)
