I first applied in September of 2011 and was turned down, This claim went to a tribunal in April 2012 and was refused. I appealed to the upper tribunal against this decision and while waiting for a decision re-applied for DLA with a fresh claim.
The second claim was refused and I again appealed. Meanwhile the decision for the 1st tribunal was set aside on points of law and a new tribunal date set.
Last week it was requested that both appeals be heard together, the tribunal agreed and the appeal was heard this week.
I received notification today: HRM and LRC backdated to the date of the original claim and until the end of 2014.
Im absolutely exhausted and feel nothing other than relief. I would just like to say thanks. I don't post much but I read the forum regularly and although the advice given to both me and others has been extremely useful, I have gained 2 other things from this site: comfort, from knowing its not just me that has struggled with the process and also, the strength to keep going when reading of positive outcomes from other members.
So, I got there eventually. Maybe reading this will help someone else to keep fighting

Hi L77,
You should be commended for persevering with your fight to be awarded the DLA that you are entitled to.
Well done !!!!
Thank you for letting us all know, as you have said positive outcomes can only encourage other members to challenge such adverse decisions.
Thanks also for your kind words regarding all at B&W.
