IB to Support group without assessment was created by Hopi
Hello again;
Just my second visit but I wanted to let you know that I received this morning a letter from DWP telling me that I will transfer from IB to ESA Support group as of December 1st, no 'medical' needed. Had to read it three times before it sank in.
I really, really want to thank this site for it's guides which enabled me to highlight the areas that count; without you I'm fairly sure I would now be contemplating an appeal - you mods are just brilliant!
The timeline was;
24/8/12 letter re transfer
2/9/12 phone call re above
11/9/12 ESA form received
9/10/12 form returned, recorded delivery
12/10/12 PO confirmed delivery
Today, 14/11/12, result!
Now, I'm not of a nervous disposition, but those three months have caused more than a few sleepless nights, wondering 'what will I do if?'. I can only imagine what others are going through. The very best of luck to you all and thank the Lord for this site, which I shall of course continue to be a member of.

Many congratulations and thank you for your words about B&W.
You might want to request the ESA85A from the DWP, the prognosis should give you an idea of when you will be re-assessed, and should confirm which descriptors you met.

Thank you Gordon, I'll do just that.
There was a lot more I wanted to say but I didn't want to create a monster post; is it OK if I add to this thread a bit at a time about my experience with things like medical records etc?
Regards, hopi

Thank you Gordon.
Firstly, I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to check your medical records before you even receive an ESA50; I was shocked to discover that my GP's records had been deleted prior to 1962 (my issues go back to birth in 1950's) and that hospital records had been deleted prior to 1995.
In other words some clerk has been through my history and decided what's important and thrown away the rest. If you were going to depend on your history, don't. (BTW it cost me £110 to discover that).
I have the scars to prove my history, not everyone will - I already know of one case that has been rejected because well-documented evidence no longer exists.
Best wishes,
hopi
