I just wanted to add to the success stories already here to give people hope, especially those suffering from invisible illnesses.
I got my letter yesterday stating that I was being put straight into the Support Group - I was shaking so much I couldn't separate the pages! The letter had no time limit for the award, so I phoned and was told that my next WCA is planned for July 2014. Given that they plan to change everything next year anyway I'm not sure that I've genuinely got two years' reprieve for this benefit, but I hope so!
I couldn't have done it without the B&W guides - and having a supportive consultant really helped too. If it weren't for B&W I wouldn't have known the correct legal test for walking distance, for example, and as such I would have been misled by the form into giving an incorrect answer.
Thank you again - I get to keep my independence and dignity for a while longer, and that means more to me than I can adequately express.

If you do not mind my asking, what invisible ilness do you have???
I only ask this as my friend is in the process of filling out her dreaded ESA form and she has the invisible, but extreemly delibiating fibromyalgia and is worried that she will be seen as a scrounger:-(
Your sucess will certainly give hope to many others, well done.

Hi R,
I think the answer to your query may be in the title of the thread :
"IB to ESA Support Group without a medical (ME/CFS)"
I am sure that Cat will confirm this, or not.
