Good news was created by Fizgog1
My husband has been placed in the support group without a medical. This is such a relief for now at least. It took about 5 weeeks for the decision to be made.
I would like to thank this site for being so informative.

Hi m
Fg1 may wish to answer you also.
As it is optional whether or not copy of an ESA50 is sent to the DM also, it will not probably impact on a claimant's ESA WCA decision, unless there is a problem at the ATOS end of things.
Think of it as a "failsafe" just as a fuse may sit in the plug of an electrical appliance for many years without blowing.
It only protects you if there is a fault situation, then it performs its purpose, blows, breaks the circuit and protects you from electrical shock or fire.
Obviously the use of the correct fuse in a plug, is not optional though, this is a "must do"
Sorry to ramble on a bit !!
