Successful DLA award!!

Thank you, Thank you to 'Benefits and Work' experts & website team! I was notified on 17th Feb that I had been awarded High Care and High Mobility allowance. I'd never applied before - in fact didn't even know about DLA until a friend told me, who also alerted me to this website. I only sent in the form on 18th Jan - 5 days before the deadline. (GP told me he'd sent his report on 7th Feb). It did take me some weeks to complete the form, from mid Dec, (which I found v. stressful) but I followed every guideline on the B & W info pack - especially about giving detailed information, using additional sheets if not enough space to write, & (v. important, I think..)cross referencing to different sections & answers where appropriate. The guides on medical conditions were also extrememly helpful on helping me decide whether I should apply. I have been suffering for several years & took early retirement 4 years ago (not on health grounds) because I felt I just couldn't cope with deteriorating health & a stressful job (but which I had enjoyed when in good health). This award really has changed my life. I can't believe it happened so fast, either - I thought it would be months before a decision. Take heart - miracles do happen! I couldn't have got through that form without B&W. Thank you so much!!!
