Received the letter from the DWP this morning informing me that I have been awarded ESA and placed in the Work Related Activity Group. I haven't been asked to attend an ATOS medical at this time.
I probably won't appeal for the Support Group, the anxiety and stress to get this far has been intense.
I would like to thank everyone associated with this site, the guides provided for navigating the ESA50 minefield are absolutely invaluable, and that's an understatement!
Many, many thanks!
Hi E,
Congratulations on gaining entry to the WRAG of ESA.
I don't wish to "rain on your parade", but are you aware of the information from the link below, with respect to Contributary Based ESA in WRAG :
12 Month Limit for ESA(CB)
Of course you may well be in receipt of IRESA in the WRAG.

Hi,
Yes, I've been put on ESA WRAG (CB) and have read about the 12 month limit. Am I wrong to assume though that after this 12 months, provided I still pass the WCA, that I can apply for income related ESA? My only income was the old IB and now ESA, (obviouly housing benefit and council tax benefit too), with no assets, no spouse etc.

Hi E,
Yes, you are correct, and from what you say, it would seem that you may pass the means test for IRESA, please see ;

Thanks for the links, i have taken a look and reckon I should be okay.
To be honest, I was so utterly relieved not to have been called in by ATOS. I have been to 5 others under the old PCA, and they were stressful enough.
thanks again!
