Hi,

Well done on your good news.

Also thanks for letting the members know. It shows that not all IB to ESA migrations are problematic and that enclosing good extra information can help obtain the right result.

Pete

Hi Katherine

The CAB will usually help you to fill in an ESA50, or you can try finding help from the link below.

Firstly, I'm pleased for you Pam........You must have breathed a huge sigh of relief when you got your decision.

Katherine..........try not to let this latest episode regarding ESA worry you too much. I know full well that is far, far more easy to say than do. I have experienced what I call 'brown envelope coming thru' letterbox syndrome' which leads to pain in my stomach and sometimes panic attacks for years now (my back injury has kept me from work for these past 23+ years).
Not only do I blame my depression on the loss of ability to work, but my experience and treatment by some in the DSS system has nearly destroyed me as a 'person'. I said to my Doctor that "If some working in the DSS treated me as a human being, then I wouldn't be in here wasting your time asking for anti-depressants."

The phone call will come, I took a deep breath and and treated the person on the end of that phone call as I would like to be treated. Ask anything you want (that is relevant) and don't be disheartened by what they may say.....I've already had conflicting comments from that and further conversations I've had with DWP these past few weeks.

When the form comes (in a white envelope by the way).....I opened it.....then put it away for a few days.
Following the advice given on ESA on this site (incidentally the guide says I should be in the 'Support Group' whereas DWP has told me I'm in the Work-Related Group.....needless to say I've questioned their decision) I then gathered myself and started to go thru' each section at my own pace which eventually led to a reminder from DWP (letter) to say I hadn't returned my ESA form (I had another two weeks though) but do seek CAB's advice if you want to....they are very helpful.

I sent my ESA form (keep a photo copy) off with about 17 pages of supporting documentation I've gathered over the years and waited. Their decision came via another phone call and a letter. When the letter came, just to add to the confusion, they had put in details of Jobseekers' Allowance.....yet another phone call to them!! I've been placed in the ESA/ WRG without a medical.

I've tried to turn the constant worry I've suffered into more 'positive' energy. I recently joined the 'Hacked-Off' campaign because there's a lot in this world I don't agree with and fed up over. From that moment on, I have taken the stance that why should I be trod on by the likes of the DWP. Why should I suffer because of these Government Departments' decisions and 'targets'?
Some decisions made are just plain cynical without a thought to the claimant (or as we're now called.... 'customer' ) and I can prove it, based on previous decisions and appeals.

My apologies to Pam for hi-jacking her thread I feel......and too to Admin if I've been out of place by posting so much, but I hope that not only have I helped Katherine in some small way but also others that might read my 'ramblings' as well.....'tis my first post on here!

My best wishes to you all
