A Result! was created by jemanne
This is my first posting although I have visited this site so many times, sometimes just for comfort, as I have waited for a result. Today the brown envelope arrived and on renewal I have been awarded Higher rate care and Higher rate mobility for an indefinite period. As I am sixty four this is so important for me and from the bottom of my heart I thank everyone involved in this site. I followed the tips in filling in the form to the letter and it took me so long to fill in the form that my last claim ran out. Now I can relax. Once again my thanks. :woohoo:

Hi,

Many thanks for the feedback.

It must be a weight off your mind and bearing in mind your age, is as good a result as it is possible to hope for.

You can relax now!!

Pete

Well done, Jemanne. It's great that you got it for an indefinate period too!

Guys, Jemanne is 64 and I was just wondering if there was an age limit where they stop putting people through those ridiculous tests, or can they still call up an 80year old every so often if they wish?

For both DLA and AA the decision maker can request that any claimant no matter how old they are, must submit to a medical examination if they feel one is necessary to reach a decision on their claim.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I am 66 in 2 wks time and I had to go through a DLA review, with a home medical, at the beginning of the yr. I think if you are given an indefinite award, they can review your case at any time!
