i have been signed off work since last december.sick pay ran out so i was told to claim esa.i am now on the assessement of esa. i have had an occupational health assessement done by my employer at the end of june which confirms that i will still be unfit for work for at least next 6/9 months. my gp agrees and a further 3month sick note has just gone to the dwp. the dwp also have a copy of the medical assessement, together with details of forthcoming hospital appointments. i have now an atos assessement coming up but looking at the discriptors i do not really fit into any of them badly enough to reach 15 points so i will fail the assessement. should the new sick note, hospital appointment and the occupational report showing my current health be taken into account by the dwp when they receive my atos report which is going to be a complete waste of time as even i can see the score will be 0 points.
Any evidence you provide should be taken into account when assessing you. But in the end, you have to meet the criteria for an award of ESA.
But do bear in mind that as well as the descriptors there are also the exemptions - which are unlikely to apply - and exceptional circumstances regulations to take into account. Check the ESA guides in the members area for more info about these.
Good luck,
Steve
