DLA Rates was created by Bill
Hi all,
On the Government site (direct.gov.uk) which details DLA there are a set of rates published i.e. Mobility £51.40 and £19.55 whilst Care is listed at £73.60, £49.30 & £19.55.
Is everyone supposed to get exactly those rates because my Mobility and Care awards are less than those figures quoted by a few GBPounds each. Its not likely that they made a mistake, I know that but, just in case, do others have the same experience?
Many thanks.
Bill

You should get what is stated on Direct.gov.uk website as DWP set those rates, so you should get more or less on the award you are on

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

The DLA rates as quoted are standard rates normally for all claimants according to their mobility/care needs.
As you are being paid at non-standard rates, did the DLA Unit explain in the decision letter why this was the case? If not, I would be inclined to question why you are not being paid at the full rate, as I have not encountered this situation before with the rates of payment.

Hi welshgirl and Crazydiamond,
Many thanks for your replies. CD, no, they did not explain, the letter just said I was entitled to the amounts and the date from which they commenced.
I thought they were the standard rates until I looked online but no reason was given as to why I am getting less than the published figures. I will now contact them and find out why it is the case.
When I find out why, I will let you know.
Thanks again.
Bill

Hi Bill,
Just a thought.....maybe they have mistakenly used the old 2010 rates (as the new rates started in April 2011). To help you check this, the old 2010 rates are as follows......
High Care - £71.40;Mid Care - £47.80;Low Care - £18.95; High Mobility - £49.85; Low Mobility - £18.95.
Hope this helps. A phonecall should get it sorted though. Take care. Crow.

Hello Crow,
Many thanks for that and your fgures are spot on! Thats what they quoted me and if they are the old rates I suspect they have made a mistake.
I have written to them about it but I must say that now I know that, its the most likely reason.
Thanks Crow
