Good luck with your DLA.
I too have fibromyalgia and i didnt know DLA was a possibility!
I have just had my 20 injections into my trigger points neck, arms, shoulders and lower back.
I have now been diagnosed with myofascial syndrome too but have had a rotator cuff injury from nearly 4 years ago, my dr never took me serious, and have now been told will need surgery and i may never have full use of my arm!
I was hoping to return to work as been unemployed for 16 months now and depressed. Should I apply for it as I cannot carry bags of shopping or put bins out but didnt think this was good enough as i can walk, not fast or far but i can!
Thanks all
Jo

Hello all
I'm new to the forum so be kind to me please,
I also have fibromyalgia and had my ESA medical today. I feel positive (but you never know about these things) because when the Dr tested my reflexes I said ouch and I explained how much I hurt, and that I hurt like that all over. He then immediately ended the whole medical. I also know I have the support of my consultant, who said two weeks ago if the medical didn't go well I should talk to his secretary and they would write whatever letter was necessary but I should not be working,
Anyway, has anyone else had this experience of the medical ending abruptly? (the chaperone in the room seemed surprised too)They never asked me about if I used a computer, if I could hold a pen, or any of the questions I was expecting. And am I right in thinking this is a good sign?

Hi, thumbelina
I'd say you have every reason for optimism. The most likely reason for ending quickly is that the doc had enough evidence to recommend an award of ESA and didn't want to put you through further pain or stress.
If it turns out that wasn't the reason and you need more advice, please start a NEW thread rather than tacking on the end of someone else's (as you did here!).
Fingers crossed for a good result.
Andy.

ESA (LCW/LCWRA) Amendment Regulations 2011
There are a number of scenarios where a claimant becomes unfit to be examined once the examination has begun.
If the claimant is unfit to be fully assessed for reasons related directly to their Medical Condition, but enough clinical detail can be obtained or observations recorded, the HCP should make all attempts to complete the Examination, providing full details of the incident and recording any appropriate descriptors or advice on Support Group inclusion.
