ESA/Support Group Tribunal was created by Pusscat
Hi All
Not been around for a while, but I now have my ESA Tribunal on Friday this week.
I have spoken to 2 people at Enable Ability and they have both told me they think I am prepared enough not to have a rep with me. My husband is coming with me, as support and to guide me due to my sight problems.
I just want to know if I have anything to be concerned about not having a rep there, and if there is anything I should be concerned about.
The main guy at Enable Ability has said that I should have no problem whatsoever being placed in the Support Group at tribunal with the medical conditions I have.
Any help much appreciated.

Sorry, just realised I repeated myself there.
Should have said if there is anything I should have prepared to take with me.
I got the notification of the tribunal too late to send any info in within the 7 day limit, probably due to our normal Postman being on holiday!

Hi Pusscat
There is good advice on approaching the hearing from page 21 of the ESA appeal guide.
Having a rep helps but it's not absolutely necessary.
If there was any written evidence or letters that you wanted to send the tribunal you can hand in a few pages to the Clerk before the hearing, but anything more than that might lead to an adjournment, which you would want to avoid.
Make sure you study the appeal papers before the hearing (I'm sure you already have). It's worth making notes of anything important you have to say to support your claim for the support group and taking them with you to the hearing.
Also your husband should be prepared to describe the effect of your health problems as he would be a good witness and may be asked questions.
Good luck
Derek

Okay. I've been advised to take a full list of medications with me and any health updates I might have, and that's about it, which is what I was going to do, and a short second supporting letter from my doc. I did not really want to take too much else to be honest.
I'll mention that to my husband too so he is ready, just in-case
