One for Pete if he is active. I am in receipt of WP UMSUPP and the old IB SERPS conribution payment of £113 per month. I am due a review in Jan 2012 for the latter and a WP UMSUPP review 2017 1 year before my 65th b'day. My question is what would happen if I was to voluntarily give up the IB payment to me. I know it sounds silly but to be honest I really don't need it or the hastle, I have a good WP, and a service pension plus the wife earns a good wage. Any thoughts/views on this would be appreciated.
I am in the same postion as you my IB is £130.36 per 4 weeks, I am going to go through the system and see what I get, the DWP say that there is nothing like the serps payment under ESA but you cant be worse off by the move so if ESA is awarded a payment will be made, for that amount
I asked the DWP what about DLA ? as I have read here how people failing ESA have had DLA stopped and reviwed again, they said WP not getting IB or ESA will not have that happening to them. Information came from a senior manager with name and direct number who contated me after I had visit from my MP who took it up with DWP for me. If it goes it goes I will save my energy for DLA to PIP move as thats higher mob middle care indef

Normally we cannot deal with War Pensions, it's just lucky that Pete our moderator is well-versed in these matters.
However, he's away for a few days, so I'll make sure he sees your post and tries to answer your query if he can.

Dave, I rang up WP and they really did not have a clue. But we shall wait and see. I remember once on of the welfare officers said they use an entirely different criteria for UNSUPP than that used for IB.
