It is disgraceful the way they are taking so long the good news is they have been known to turn people down in a few weeks, somthing you have put has got them thinking, and put them in the postion you cant be given the bums rush and just get turned down, I think its still a case of no news is good news .. that said fingers crossed you soon get good news
Guess what?
yes, you got it - still waiting for a decision !
All I know is that my file is with the department that deals with MP's, so his letter has obviously got there.
I have made an official complaint and been fobbed off with a story that the GP's report from March did not mention one of my conditions so they wrote to the GP again but it took them until the middle of June to actually write and send the letter !
Disgraceful is a mild way of putting it !

hello all,
just an update for you.
Spoke to DLA this morning and they told me that it will be at least another 7-10 days before I have any chance of getting a decision on my care claim !
Brilliant service?
Not impressed,
Lisa

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

It sounds like a particularly bad case of procrastination and prevarication by the DLA Unit.
The DWP are masters of both, together with ever-increasing incompetence.

have the DWP kept you informed that they had not made a decion, mine took ages but they kept writting to me and saying what they were doing, ie awaiting for information from my GP etc
However i also agree that you get them for malministration as it is unexceptable.
Re the Carers allowance, they will always back date it to date of claim (well they only normally do 3 months but as they have taken this long to come back to you)
hope all goes well
