I have noted on here and other places that it is advised to not only send med evidence with the ESA50 form, but also send a copy to the BDC as well. My problem with this is who to address it too, is it a DM, if so which one. What letter do you accompany the med evidence if sending to BDC.
Also, how long after returning ESA50 form do you receive a medical (as the majority do), Are you contacted by telephone or do they send a letter. Does a DM contact you or does Atos.
Lastly, with regard to Manual Dexterity problems, if having problems with your hands, surely would it not be better to get help with completeing the form, as would it not go against you when completing form yourself, yet putting down you have problems with your hands.
Many thanks in advance.

You can try contacting the JCP dealing with your claim, the phone number will be on any correspondance they have sent, and asking who the DM is. If they can't tell you just send it to the JCP.Just a couple of questions re: ESA50.

Ideally you should send it with your ESA50 so that all the evidence can be reviewed as one.
A medical, should you require one, is normally scheduled for about 2 weeks after your ESA50 is returned. ATOS will contact you ny letter and sometimes phone to confirm the date. Also, how long after returning ESA50 form do you receive a medical (as the majority do), Are you contacted by telephone or do they send a letter. You make a valid point. ATOS will certainly look at how the ESA50 has been completed and make assumptions. If you do fill it in yourself it would be worth including a section on how you did this, for example, I used speach to text software as problems with my hands prevent me from writing or typingLastly, with regard to Manual Dexterity problems, if having problems with your hands, surely would it not be better to get help with completeing the form, as would it not go against you when completing form yourself, yet putting down you have problems with your hands.
Hope this helps, if you have more questions, please come back to the forums.

Is it? I must have missed that one then. May I ask why that should be done?

It is primarily belt and braces, but for those with a severe conidtion it also gives the Decision Maker a chance to put you straight into the Support Group without a medical, which otherwise might not happen until after one has been carried out.Is it?
