DLA REJECTION LETTER QUESTIONS was created by pink*lupins
Hi, I was wondering if someone could give me some adive on the dreaded DLA rejection letter I received today and the best way forward.
I have a complicated medical history and knowing the minefield of the dreaded DLA process (through my job when I was able to work)I have put off claiming DLA.
However over the last two years I have thought about it and in Feb this year decided to take the plung and enter the minefield!!!
Using the guides from this site and my previous experience I sent off my application form, extra information, different specialists reports, MRI reports etc etc.
Today I recived the expected rejection letter.
Within the letter it states that I need help to wash, bath, shower and dress myself.
All the care catorgories including day and night say that I have difficulty but with aids don't need help.
I didn't fall into this trap on the form and explained why I was unable to use aids and adaptations.
The mobility section says I can walk slowly and in a resonable manner (I wish lol)
I have phoned DLA and requested the GL24 and all the evidence they used to rejection my claim.
My questions are
- although I am quite capable and confident to go to appeal would it be better to go through the CAB? In our area they don't attend appeals.
- Filling in the GL24 should I keep it simple and just say I want to appeal or go into detail as to why I wish to appeal?
Many thanks

Have a look at our DLA appeal guides in the Members area, they explain how to fill in the GL24 form.
If the CAB are willing to take your case, then it is usually worth it, if only to get a second opinion on your submission.
If you have further questions, please come back to the forum.

Hi Gordon
Thanks for your quick reply. Found the GL24 bit, just what I needed.
Will phone the CAB and discuss it with them.
Thanks again
