Hi guys, my first application for ESA was 6 months ago. I was placed into the WRC after completion of the form and a very unpleasant ATOS medical. I had to attend the job centre once a month for WR interviews.
I have now received a new application form to complete and I am wondering why this is - is this standard procedure (every 6 months) to complete a new form or have they devised a new form and will I have to attend another medical?
The only thing I can think of is that I have been on contribution based ESA for the past 6 months because I have always worked until I had to stop 6 months ago and If I continue to claim it will be income based.
I am just wondering whether to to send the exact same form as last time because my health has not gotten any better in the last 6 months?
The average re-assessment time for the WRAG (WRC), seems to be about six months, although if you can believe it, some seem to be re-assessed even more frequently.
You should treat this as a full assessment and expect to attend a medical.
One important note to be aware of is that the ESA criteria changed at the end of March this year, so the form and the questions will be different from the those that you previously answered. We have updated guides in the Members area that explain the changes.
