IB50 and ESA50 will they have my old notes ? was created by Rob Roy
I had an IB50 examination in August 2005.
Am I to assume that the notes from that examination will be made available the the person in charge if I have to have another medical ? Or would it be wise to print out yet another 3 page plus addition to this ESA50 form ?
Thanks , Rob

Hi Rob
What 'notes' are you referring to? Do you mean the IB85 medical report from your August 2005 medical?

Dont bank on anything being available as they apparently do shred older paper work, some on her have been told that their IB50's over two years old have been shredded, but I think it depends on offices. I have asked similiar questions in the past as I have interested to know if somebody actually sits in front of my paper file when it comes to the reassessment process or more likely it may all be triggered from the electronic records on the database, but I cant be sure. A friend does work for the DWP but not on the IB side of things, he says that it varies in depts.
I cant imagine that somewhere there wont be a copy of your old IB85, but not sure if its going to be held on paper or computor. Anybody else any thoughts on this?

apply for a full set of your own benefit record s to include medical materials, do it sooner rather than later if you feel that information there is of potential advantage to you

As the system is very different for ESA I cant see why they would want anything from your IB medical, that said IMO it would be a good idea to supply the five pages you have as it might help your case
Just because they have moved the goal posts does not stop you supporting the case

Hi Derek.
Sorry for not being more clear.Yes that will be it. As I suffer from MS this is not a " tick the box" illness and the spaces on the forms are just not big enough for a full explanation of some of my problems. So my wife and I attach a couple of pages of my history so far to the forms. I just wondered if I had to go back to the start or carry on from 2005.
How do I get a copy of any records ? Can I request them by phone ? Or do I have to write in?
Thanks again all .......Rob
