DLA result was created by Mara Ox
I have my DLA result back after filling out using all the guides from here, put every detail into it and took at least 2 months to fill it out and they have awarded my husband high rate mobility confirming he is unable to walk but they have only awarded low rate care on the reason that on his own speed he can safely manage lots of care needs even though he cant as he is in pain and on painkillers , this includes Morphine which makes him very drowsy. As they have awarded him day attention they say they cant consider any help he may need preparing a cooked main meal. The obvious question here is how can they justify awarding lowest care when they are confirming he is unable to walk.I have been diagnosed with back stenosis that isnt going to get any better but they have only awarded for 2 years .

Hi Mara,
I'm afraid the higher rate mobility with lower rate care is a very common award.
Your husband can appeal against the decision within the time limit, with the usual proviso that an award can be reduced rather than increased on appeal.
Good luck,
Steve
