Part of the Appeal procedures are that the DWP must carry out a Reconsideration of the Decision, if they do not overturn the Decision, then they pass the papers onto the Tribunal Service to hold an Appeal.

Yes, you should contact the DWP to find out why you are not receiving any benefit.

Sometines these Reconsiderations can go on for weeks and weeks, but you should aim to get any additional evidence you have within a couple of weeks of you having received the letter about it or you run the risk of it not being included.

This is not the same as submitting evidence to your appeal, should it go that far. In this case you can continue to submit evidence up to about two weeks before the actual appeal date, although it is best to get everything in before then.

It is worth you being aware, that very few Reconsiderations result in a turnover of the Decision, although Members have been successful, it has usually been because they were able to supply new, relevant evidence at short notice.

It may well help, but in all honesty you need evidence that specifcally supports your claim rather than something that is general. Don;t forget that your evidence must also be relevant to the date of the original Decision.

Please have a read of the ESA Appeals guide, as all of this is explained in more detail.
