Wca questionaire on physical grounds. Question seven understanding a message from a stranger; for example (a) severe difficulty finding the fire escape.(Steve said in the text that this would qualify for support group).
Would anyone think that this would apply to blind people. As even in familiar surrounding its quite easy to get disorientated especially if something has been moved like a table or chair; let alone in an emergency situation in an unfamiliar place.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I disagree I cant see how in familiar surroundings its a problem ... .....the way the questions asked its sounds as if your looking at this to get you in the support group ? if you read up in dwp disability hand book or the a to z or medical conditions ... there is detail about how sudden onset blindness can cause problems getting around in familiar surroundings "until they get use to sight loss" I even think a time scale is given for time to adjust

I'd be lying if i said i wasn't looking to score points:but like many i'm going to be in a oretty bad place when migrated and with little or no hope of a job the support group seems like the only way to survive.
Using online calculators and taking into account the fact i'll get C/Tax benefit we are losing about £120-£130/ week. Thats assumeing my DLA remains payable if it dosn't that another £60/week
I can appeal but surviving 6-10 months with that income loss will pobably lead to serious debt.
And thats if the apeal is successful GOD knows what will happen to us if its not.

Have a look at this
www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-g...l-conditions/vision/
and here
www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/dla.pdf
the place your coming from is on all the forums ... people asking more and more pointed questions aimed not just at seeing where the points are, but that joker the one special item or point that gets them in the support group, like many I think I have it covered but time will tell
