I am assuming that your husband gets CA for you, rather than you getting it for someone else. If this is the case, you need to check whether your husband can continue to receive CA while he is in hospital and is unable to perform his caring duties.

The first thing you need to do is to get face to face advice from an independant advisor such as the CAB, as they will be able to sit down with you and explain all of your options, and what the impact of each will be.

Without knowing the impact that your husbands Angina is having on him it is impossible to say what benefits he might be able to claim, as it is the effect not the diagnosis which will affect his eligibility.

The obvious benefits are ESA and DLA, you should also look at you eligibility for Income Support if not already claiming, but in the case of the latter two, what income you might receive is not clear cut, which is why you need to speak to an advisor.

regarding transport costs, voluntary schemes - get in touch with the Patient Advisory Liasion Service they would have a leaflet or telephone number of a scheme and maybe of someone who could help you also during this time.
Where I live the local Carers support are a fantastic help, they may also have details of someone local who could help with local transport.
With regard to shopping online, there is also the Timebank scheme where I live, where the local community help one another with allsorts of things.
Why not see if there is a cardiac famil/liasion nurse at the hospital have a word with them.
Age UK - great help. even the MS society, SCOPE.
Good luck to you both.

But you must still tell the DWP that he is going into hospital.
