do charities help with bath/toilet seat etc

Are there any charities that help with adaptions to house. not anything major just raising of sofa and toilet and bath seats etc advice would be of great help to us

Have you contacted your council?

I had some help from them. They put a step outside my front door, a frame around my toilet, a handle on wall by bath, a rail by my bed to help me up, etc etc.

They will send someone around to talk to you.

You don't need charities my friend. Your County Council have an Occupational Therapy department that will willing come and access you for any helpful equipment you need for your home. You can find their number online. There is a Council grant available of up to £25,000 for each home that needs any adaptions. It's best to apply now as it's the beginning of the financial year and the budget would be readily available for you. I am having a toilet fitted that washes and dries you after use. I am also having a larger shower fitted with seat etc. Cost £6,500 by way of the Council Grant. Hope this helps.

yes, contact the adult social services,you will find it under your local council. they will want to access your health and if you are eligible they will do loads of things for you. an occupational therapist will then see you and will do loads for you. i've had rails put up inside and out, a walk in shower, raised settee, a closomat (a shower toilet) bed rails, and carers. i dont know how i would now manage without it.
