My wife has stopped claiming carers allowance 
I can claim the same amount of money for her as an allowance with my WP which makes the money tax free and allows her to go back to uni full time to do her masters.
She telephoned them and asked them to stop it, under the over lapping benefit rule.
They wrote saying they have stopped it, but have given the reason"that she no longer cares 35 hours per week" which is not true ?
Is it worth getting them to change the paperwork ? to the correct reason. Also when she called they warned her that stopping carers allowance would mean they would not pay her stamp anymore
BUT on the letter they sent it ends with a telephone number she can call if not getting carers allowance but is caring 20 hours a week for someone and they pay the stamp
