Is this payment correct? was created by Jox
First positive experince for a while, after sumbiting my esa appeal i phoned to ask when my money would be reinstated and was told i would have to send a sick note in 1st, i send the sick note yesterday speacial delivery and today without having to nah them about payment it turned up in my bank.
only thing is the last 2 payments i recived were on the 28/02/11 £180 then a final payment of £9 on the 02/03/11
its now the 31st and they have sent me a payment of £130 which is only 2 weeks at the assement rate i think they owe me a further 2 weeks do they not?

I'm not 100% certain but I think the payments are only re-instated from the date the DWP receive the GL24 appeal form.
In addiition, from my own experience of payments, the DWP often pay complete weeks seperately from part ones.

Hi Jox
I'm glad you have had some positive news.
Did they simply pay the money into your bank account, or did they send you a letter as well explaining the dates that the payments are for?
It's possible that you last two-week payment was delayed due to the appeal and receipt of sick note, in which case you may hopefully get another two-week payment soon.
Regards
Derek

Hi Jox
I think that on receiving the GL/24 form the DWP have to backdate your payments to the date of the decision. I'm not certain of that, but if they asked you to backdate the sick note to 02/03/11 I would expect that that was the reason why.
If you received a payment a day after you sent in your sick note, that suggests that the DWP are either lightning quick at responding to claimants , or that you would have received the payment anyway.
So hopefully you will get another payment soon now that you sent in the sick note, otherwise you can ring them to find out when your next payment will be.
