I would like to know if it is possible to work and receive DLA at the highest rates, at the same time? I find it difficult to imagine that you can, since you need help 24 hours a day in order to receive the highest rate. Could you explain how this works please. Thank you.

You can, but you'd probably need other funding, such as local authority funding, as well.

I know someone who has PAs who go to work with him. They help him with things like using the toilet.

You might also have someone needing supervision who is supervised by their work colleagues during the daytime.

Thank you for your reply. I just think it would be difficult to work, taking into account that you need so much help with your care needs, and how would an employer view this? Someone who is there to look after you, whilst you are working.

I also wanted to know whether people who receive DLA for an indefinite period will still have to go through another assessment and more tests, once the PIP comes into place.

Thank you

It's my understanding of the government's proposals that people applying for PIP/transferred from DLA to PIP will be reassessed annually, but whether they go ahead with that remains to be seen.
