8 Week wait for DLA result

Has anyone had to wait this long for a result or less time?

I think 8 weeks is a long time, but what can I do but wait? I don't know why they make us wait that long, is it because they are being awkward or to be annoying?

If I get any award of anything do you get it backdated to when you first sent the form back, or from the date your illness/disability started?

I'm afraid 8 weeks is not an unusually long time.

Your award will be backdated either to the date you asked for a form from the DWP, if you returned it within the time limit, or from the date the DWP received it if you did not return it within the time limit or you got it from another source and it wasn't date stamped.

I got a letter within 4 days of posting my application to advise me to expect to wait up to 11 weeks for a decision !

Have you called them ?they ont be able to tell you when the result will known, but it should show on computer by now if they have wrote to anyone for more information, if so you know it will be much longer
