Hi Callisto
It was the DWP as they sent me a form from their new "Integrity Department" - and here was I thinking Integrity was all about doing things "Properly"

Integrity Dept conjures up pictures of some KGB like organisation who just uses these words to - well interegate people for some imagined crime!
What exactly does this dept actually deal with then? Is it along the lines of the "correctness programme"? or is this yet another name for the fraud dept?
Hope all goes well.

I dont think its another name the DWP like using the word "fraud" I have seen it on docs where they where talking about staff joining the fraud department when carers allowance unit are handed over to the DLA unit at Blackpool

No I can see that as I have done a bit of research now and can see that the Benefit Integrity Centres are now chasing up a good number of claims. There seems to have been a lot of discussion on other forums about this. This is really another form of correctness and they either send the review forms or indeed phone up claimants.
I cant decide whether they are favouring means tested benefits or those in receit of some sort of occ pension?

to update on this phone call, as I am now blind I had to get my daughter to send in Forms regarding my benefits check and today they called me back to answer questions. I did not miss and hit the wall but was very polite and told the caller exactly what I thought of IDS and Council, etc. She agreed the cut backs to severely disabled were terrible. I wanted to know why IDS has not ever said that people that are so disabled that cant walk or see would not get their Benefits stopped, she just changed the subject quite promptly. I am so depressed and down and every penny I get all goes to my Bills, they allow me £10 per month for clothing and toiletries(Money mAtters)sorted out my probs but life is so very hard when you have chronic illness sadly. The lady ended up saying she hope I won the Lottery one day to make things better for me. Fat Chance :)

Hi everyone
Just to let you know that since the phone call from the'DWP'nearly two weeks ago, my daughter hasn't received the 'letter'. I suppose there is still time?
However on Friday I received a white envelope containing the new ESA50 03/11 so unfortunately DWP & Atos hadn't forgotten about me as the date on the covering letter was dated exactly 1 year & 1 day from my previous assessment with an Atos HCP, how efficient!

I know this was all over amonth ago, but how did you get on with your medical Maggie and did your daughter ever get that follow up letter from the DWP?

Hi Just Me
Thanks for asking. The letter for my daughter finally arrived a couple of weeks ago asking if her income had changed during the past year. It hadn't changed so she just filled it in & sent it back. Haven't heard anything more about it. However, if you read my posts on #57293 about my medical assessment, yet to take place, you'll see why that's not surprising.
Best wishes
maggie

Yes I saw, what a mess. :(

Glad to hear your got the other a matter sorted out though, although I still don't get why they're concerned about your daughters income as you're on contributions based IB aren't you? So not means tested? I mean why do they need to know what somebody else's income is?
