Could I openly tape record my medical assessment? was created by Alexa247
My poor sister has already taken days off work to escort me to hospital for treatment this year and it seems unfair to ask her to take even more time off for my medical assessment.
Would I be allowed to openly tape record the medical to ensure my answers match what is written in the report or is this just likely to piss off the Nurse / doctor?

Hi Alexa
HCPs are instructed by ATOS to refuse to allow claimants to record medicals, but many people record them covertly. Some have even managed to make an arrangement with ATOS.
There has been much discussion on this subject. You will find a lot of information about the subject if you search the forum for recording medicals.
Good luck with your medical

Hi
It should be very interesting then, when I ask for speech to text reporter, that will type in large print for me to see and will take a very long time, and discrimination to rush Totally Deaf person, and all this gets recorded and filed. This will be interesting..

Absolutely, C J
You could claim that under the Disability Discrimination Act your speech to text reporter is a 'reasonable adjustment' as specified under the act and to deprive you of that would be an infringement.
