DLA award was created by eva
Thank you for all the info that I have garnered from here. I have been fighting to get the proper DLA since 2000. I went all the way to commissioners for an award of LRC and LRM. I recently had surgery to remove my right kidney after I was found to have cancer I had previously applied because I have had Fibromyalgia, arthitis, asthma IBS since 1996 and day to day living has been harder and harder over the years the last ATOS Dr I saw a year ago said there was hardly anything wrong with me that I could walk 1800 meters with no problems and that at that time my disabilities were not very bad. I was given a wheelchair by SS because I cannot walk but a few steps. This was in complete contrast to my Dr and consultants reports.I sent in a change of circumstances using the guides you provide along with all the reports from the hospital stating all the things that affect me. DLA were not convinced by the consultants letters OT info or carers letter and they wrote to my GP for confirmation.
Today I got a reply from DLA that I have been awarded HRC and HRM back dated to October when I got out of the hospital after my surgery and the award is indefinite.
This will change my life considerably I can now afford to put the heating on when I need it.
