Can anyone advise please how or where I might find someone who can act as my advocate at my ESA appeal? Although I am capable of representing myself I am in no doubt that my ability to talk coherently went against me at my medical (I'm severely depressed not stupid!!!). My GP has no resources, I have been let down in the past by CAB and I cannot afford to pay for support. What do other people do?
We have some advice on getting help with your benefits here .
However, in practice, there are few organisations left providing representation at tribunals, thanks to various cutbacks.
There may be local organisations where you live. Even if you don't want your CAB to help with your appeal, maybe they could tell you about other organisations in their area.
