Hello Gordon,
Sorry for being so dim. If the Pathways to Work appointment goes ahead this Friday, what exactly is the appointment about, if there is no discussion of an individual's health? I am in receipt of Income Support which ends this month and then I have been told by IS, that I will be considered for ESA. I have a current Fit note and my employer owes me no more pay.
thank you. c

The Knowing your rights at Pathways to Work Interviews guide explains all about thes interviews and your responsibilities.
If you are not currently receiving ESA then you will need to go through an application process, complete an ESA50 and then probably attend a medical assessment.

I was (wrongly)advised to apply for ESA, when I should have applied for IS. This was identified and I was paid (including back pay) by IS. The people at IS told me that my application for ESA was still on file and that they would take over after this week. Should I verify that with ESA?? Does this make sense? I assumed (danger) that the P to W appointment was made with my application (already completed by phone and checked by me and returned) for ESA.

OK - so you applied for ESA, did you complete an ESA50? from you previous posts I guess not, depending on the how much time has elapsed, this would be the next stage.
I have just gone through the reverse process so it should be reasonably transparent.
The PWI may be related to your ESA claim, most claimants ahave to attend one between applying for ESA and attending a medical, this often runs in parallel to the ESA50 process.
