I wonder if anyone can give me more info on this. I recently attended the medical examination for ESA. Following this I received a letter informing me I was placed in the work related activity group. I received another letter the next day infomring me that I had to attend a Pathways to work Interview. I told my doctor about this and he said it was riducoulas and to appeal the decision. I spoke to someone at the Jobcentreplus and was informed that I had been awarded 21 points. I told them of my decision to appeal and she said that only people who had cancer or had been disabled from birth were placed in the Support Group. I can hardly move and am currently waiting for surgery. How am I supposed to work? Your help in this matter would be much appreciated
If you look at our guide to understanding ESA in the members area you will see the criteria for getting into the support group.
Needless to say JC+ are talking nonsense.
I should add that there is always a risk if you appeal to go into the support group that your WRAG award could be taken away, though that risk is probably very small indeed.
Good luck,
Steve
