Need help with some of the site information-Thanks was created by David
I read this on Steve's website-
The new test comes into force on 28th March, but the DWP have said that they will begin sending out ESA50 questionnaires relating to the new test from 14th March. Anyone who receives the current ESA50 will still be assessed using the current work capability assessment, even if their medical takes place after 28 March.
Does this mean if you have been on incapacity bebefit a few years(soon forced onto ESA) that you get the same PCA test or you recieve the new one. Is the new PCA test only for new claiments essentially. Also what happens in the future with this.
Please ask for clarification if my question is confusing. Sorry to be a bit thick -just need some clarification.
Thanks.

Hi David,
No, what this means is that a lot of people who have received the current ESA50 will not actually have their medicals until after 28th March. These people will be assessed using the current work capability assessment, not the one that comes in on 28 March.
So if you got an ESA50 a month ago and have just returned it, your assessment may not be until, say mid April. The new, harsher test will have come in by then. But it won't apply to you because you filled in the form for the test we have at the moment.
But,apart from people on IB who receive their form in the next month, the new test will apply to everyone currently on IB when they are migrated.
Unless it changes again in the future, of course.
Steve
